Index update cycle
Once a tag is indexed, TrendMiner continuously keeps its index up to date. This ensures smooth access to time series data while distributing the load on data sources throughout the day.
A tag is updated according to one of the following update cycles:
Every 2 minutes
Tags in active monitors are updated every 2 minutes. In case calculated tag are monitored their variables are also updated every 2 minutes. The 2 minute update cycle gets priority over all other cycles.
Every hour
This is the default indexing policy. Tags are updated hourly once initially indexed and remain on this cycle as long as they are actively used[2].
Every day
This is the reduced indexing policy. Tags that haven’t been used[2] by any user in the past week will be updated once per day.
Never
This occurs when a tag is marked as Dormant (see Index States Overview). To conserve resources, TrendMiner will no longer attempt to update these tags.
Tags unused[2] for a week are identified daily and automatically switched to the reduced indexing policy. If such a tag is used again, it will revert to the default policy within 5 minutes.
