Confirm correlations between process metrics
Quickly extracting metrics from process features (batches, operating periods, ...) and seeing if and how they correlate is a simple yet powerful technique. It allows us to quickly test hypotheses over a large sample size. It is a fast way of proving once and for all that expected process relationships do in fact exist, though you might also find that what passed as a common knowledge is not exactly true.
Search for the process feature you want to analyze. The strength here is that we can extract hundreds or thousands of samples of such features at once, giving us a much better test statistic than if we were to manually gather a few samples.

Perform the calculations (process metrics) you want to check for correlations. This means for every sample, we will get one or more aggregated values (e.g., average of a pressure, integral of a current, standard deviation of a flow). It is these aggregated values we will investigate for correlations.
