Performance tag

A performance tag is a formula tag that calculates a process KPI. To clarify that very general description, here are some typical examples:

  • Transfer coefficient (e.g., heat)

  • Efficiency (e.g., energy)

  • Intensity value (e.g. energy intensity)

In general, a performance tag is a calculation that we want to have as high as possible, and of which we would like to know if it decreases. The calculation needed to create such a tag is very dependent on the process.

The heat exchange coefficient, calculated from product and hot water flows and in/outgoing temperatures. For heat exchange, we can use the built-in function for logarithmic mean temperature difference. Note that if would like to have the resulting tag in SI units (W/m2/K), we would need to include a correction factor in the calculation.
